Men herders and grazing on national forest reserves in Chato District and Geita Region in general have been asked to leave immediately as possible and to return to their villages before they went out.
Speaking to leaders of Chato District after visiting the District Hon. Major General retired Ezekiel Kyunga Geita Regional Commissioner said all citizens are among the stocks are supposed to return from whence they came with their cattle and even those who come from other villages are required to return to their areas of previously. In addition, he called on breeders with large groups of livestock breeds to sell part of it to invest in other development activities since it is one way to reduce the herd to deal with the shortage of grazing areas it.
Initially Shaban Ntarambe Chato District Commissioner told the Regional Commissioner that citizens have given notice to remove the wild animals using ward and division leaders and some citizens who left of their own accord. However he noted that the majority of citizens who are in national reserves are from outside the country.
